Keane and Murphy Discuss Man City’s ‘Momentum’ Following ‘Eight or Nine’ Top Matches

Pundits Roy Keane and Danny Murphy have outlined why Manchester City possess “momentum” over Arsenal following their recent clash in the Premier League title race.

City have spent minimal time at the top of the Premier League this season, just six days, whereas the Gunners have held the position consistently since October.

If the Citizens triumph over Burnley, they will likely climb to the top spot, leveling on points with the Gunners following strong performances despite Arsenal's recent struggles.

Keane and Murphy articulated how City currently have the momentum.

Keane remarked on Sky Sports: “Momentum is with Manchester City. They’ve been the best team for eight or nine games. These players can deal with pressure.

Arsenal need to regroup; they had good chances but missed them.”

Murphy added: “I think it edges it [the title race] towards City. Momentum, confidence, and all of those elements play a key role. I was pleasantly surprised by the game; it had much more quality than I anticipated.”

City has been performing like a freight train lately, and if top club Arsenal cannot stop them, it will be challenging for anyone else to do so.

In their last eight Premier League matches, City have secured six victories, drawn two, and remain unbeaten.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's recent record includes two losses, two draws, and four wins. While City keep accumulating points, the Gunners have allowed them to re-enter the title chase.

Arsenal has no top-10 teams left to face, making it feasible for them to potentially finish their last five matches without dropping points.

However, City’s current momentum indicates they’re not likely to drop many points either, having recently defeated both Chelsea and Arsenal, boosting their confidence against future opponents.

Their schedule remains manageable, with fourth-placed Aston Villa representing their greatest challenge, along with Brentford, who are pushing for a European spot.

If neither team drops points for the remainder of the season, they would end up level on points, likely decided by goal difference in their respective remaining games.
