Report: Liverpool Aiming to Profit from Premier League Champion Known for Playing the Game Correctly
A reliable reporter has indicated that Liverpool may look to ‘cash in’ on a member of their Premier League-winning squad during the summer transfer window.
Several players from last year’s title-winning team have left the Reds, while others have gone out on loan, including Harvey Elliott, who joined Aston Villa for the current season.

The arrangement includes a clause for the 22-year-old to sign for the Villans permanently after 10 Premier League appearances.
However, more than seven months after leaving Anfield, he’s made just nine appearances in all competitions under Unai Emery (four in the Premier League), with total game time of only 277 minutes (Transfermarkt).

Liverpool could cash in on Elliott this summer
In an article for The Telegraph, Dominic King evaluated the prospects of nine players who are either confirmed to be leaving Liverpool or could be transferred, with Elliott included.
The article noted: ‘It has been a disappointing year for the young man. Aston Villa was supposed to be a move that enabled him to get minutes under his belt, but it has turned into a calamity.’
‘It does not seem like his parent club are in a rush to get him back to Anfield and they will look to cash in during the summer window. He deserves to play regularly.’

Elliott seems likely to move on from Liverpool for good this year
A few months ago, Elliott seemed poised for a breakout year. He played a role in Liverpool’s Premier League success (though he made just two top-flight starts) and was impressive for England in their European under-21 title defense.
Unfortunately, both Arne Slot and Emery have indicated that he’s not part of their visions, and David Ornstein has reported that FSG plan to retain faith in the Dutchman even if the Reds do not secure Champions League qualification.
The 22-year-old is a talented player, with Joe Cole stating on Channel 4 last year (via BBC Sport) that he ‘plays football the right way.’ Many wonder if he could have been a valuable asset in an LFC attack that has struggled at times this season.
Liverpool were set to receive £35m if Villa activated his buy clause (The Athletic), but after being sidelined by Emery, it would be challenging for Liverpool to command that fee this year.
A summer transfer now seems more likely, and if Elliott does leave Anfield, it’s hoped he will find a club that appreciates his abilities and provides him the chance to excel.
