Newcastle United vs Bournemouth: Check Out Eddie Howe’s Pre-Match Statement on

Under Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth have demonstrated their strengths this season, with their recent away performance at Arsenal highlighting their organisation and attacking threat.

We are also focused on showcasing our own key strengths and qualities today.

Recent meetings with Bournemouth have been competitive, including our FA Cup tie earlier this year, which went the full distance. We are aware of the challenge they pose, and we’re eager to take it on.

This week’s preparation has been centered on learning from our experiences and striving to put forth our best performance across the board.

Against Crystal Palace, we fell short in extending our lead and ultimately shared in the disappointment of that outcome.

We started strongly, executing our game plan well and taking the lead through Will Osula. However, key moments in Premier League matches dictate results, and we didn’t close out the game as necessary.

We’ve examined this honestly, as our standards demand improvement. We must channel the negative emotions from that defeat into a collective desire to respond effectively.

We’re encouraged to have a full squad back together after international fixtures, with returning players injecting competition and energy as we head into a pivotal phase. The atmosphere has been positive and unified.

During the international break, we announced that Kieran Trippier will depart the club when his contract ends this summer. His impact since joining in January 2022 has been monumental, setting high standards and leading by example throughout numerous memorable moments.

We’ll have ample time to celebrate his contributions, but right now, like everyone, his focus is on helping the team finish the season strongly.

With six Premier League matches remaining and 18 points at stake, our aim is clear – to secure as many points as possible and finish the season with momentum.

We aim to display our best selves – the version that works tirelessly for one another, plays with technical quality, courage, intensity, and competes with the top teams in the league and beyond. Each match is an opportunity, and we will approach every game with unity and confidence.

Most importantly, we want to win for you. You have supported us, both in triumphs and challenging times. This club thrives on that connection, and it means everything to us. In these final weeks of the season, we will give everything to contribute and end this campaign positively.

Thank you for your unwavering support.

Eddie Howe.
