Ange Postecoglou Delivers No-Nonsense Reply to Marcus Rashford Speculation

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou declined to engage in discussions about potential player transfers as the January transfer window approaches.

In a straightforward reply during his press conference, the Tottenham head coach avoided letting reporters steer the conversation towards any narratives prior to their Carabao Cup quarter-final match against Manchester United, particularly concerning Marcus Rashford.

This week, Manchester United's Rashford hinted at his desire for a ‘new challenge’, leading to speculation about his future. Ruben Amorim responded to Rashford's comments by suggesting that a new challenge might be found at Manchester United, while Postecoglou dismissed Tottenham's interest.

When questioned about a possible interest in Rashford, Postecoglou replied: “There’s always noise about Man United, where have you been? No interest, do not care. He’s a Man United player, very good player.”

The Australian added: “They’ve got plenty of good players. I manage my players and other managers will manage their own players. In terms of Marcus’ situation, I have no real desire to examine it any further.”

It was evident that Postecoglou was not inclined to speak about any issues surrounding Manchester United. The 59-year-old will hope that off-field discussions do not distract his team as they aim to reach their fourth League Cup Final since last winning it in 2007/08.

However, Postecoglou was willing to provide a brief injury update ahead of the quarter-final at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Regarding Destiny Udogie's condition, Ange noted: “Destiny, no injury, but he's still a bit sore from the game. Not ruling him out but we'll see how he is with the turnaround.”

Additionally, Yves Bissouma is back in contention after serving a one-match suspension.
