Sutton Doubts Nygren’s Fit for the English Premier League on
Chris Sutton has expressed doubts about Benjamin Nygren's ability to thrive in the English Premier League, despite the Swede's impressive scoring record this season.
The Hoops midfielder has been one of Celtic’s standout players this season, netting 19 goals across all competitions. However, critics often highlight his inconsistent impact on matches.
Nygren's goal-scoring prowess has garnered interest from English clubs, with rumors of a potential summer transfer growing, even as questions remain about his overall game performance.
On The Warm-Up podcast, Sutton commented: “That’s where I would be sceptical. I don’t think he has the dynamism [for the Premier League]. He has a wonderful instinct for his movement in the box and where it’s going to land – a nice left foot and a good finisher.”
“I am not so sure, just personally, I would have liked to have played with him.”

Scott Brown has urged Celtic supporters to rally behind captain Callum McGregor as the team approaches the final stretch of league matches.
Celtic currently sits third in the standings, trailing Hearts and the Ibrox club, leading to intensified scrutiny on McGregor’s recent form, with suggestions that he might be underperforming.
Despite ongoing fitness challenges, CalMac has continued to play, determined to lead the team back up the table. Some recommend he be rested to recover fully.
Brown refutes these criticisms, emphasizing McGregor’s commitment and leadership, highlighting his long-standing dedication to the Hoops.
In statements to Daily Record, the former Celtic captain stated: “I’m telling you now, never write Cal off because he’s the main man and he keeps that club ticking. He keeps the team together on the pitch and he’s the driving force off it.”
“His mentality is next to none – he wants to play every game whether he’s injured or not. He’ll fight for the cause for the good of the football club rather than worrying about what’s best for himself.”
