Tottenham Aiming to Replace Dominic Solanke After Just Six Months, According to Reports
Tottenham Hotspur is eager to secure a prominent No.9 for their squad in north London, just months after acquiring Dominic Solanke.
The England international signed with Tottenham for a fee of £60 million this summer, serving as the long-anticipated replacement for club-record goal scorer Harry Kane, who departed last summer. However, taking over the role of the England captain – who ranks No.7 in eScored’s list of the greatest Premier League strikers ever – has proven to be a significant challenge for the former Chelsea and Liverpool player.
Despite Solanke’s efforts, Spurs currently find themselves in seventh place in the standings, with their performance details fluctuating from week to week. It appears that chairman Daniel Levy is ready to pursue another striker to address the situation.
Tottenham is targeting a proven Premier League goal scorer to support Solanke

Given that Solanke operates primarily in the center and Ange Postecoglou prefers a sole striker, Fichajes in Spain has stated that Tottenham is considering bringing Ivan Toney back to London.
The former Brentford forward was on the radar of multiple leading Premier League teams, including Tottenham as a potential destination – prior to his unexpected transfer to the Saudi Pro League.
Securing Toney would likely not only mean the end of Son playing centrally, but also significantly reduce Solanke’s playing time.
Last month, Solanke’s previous manager, Andoni Iraola, told eScored that he anticipated the target man leaving Bournemouth after standout performances warranted a move to a higher level.
“I always thought it was likely he would leave, not just because of his goals but due to his overall performances last season,” the Bournemouth manager stated. “He was remarkably consistent. Not making the Euros – which didn’t help our case: it made it difficult to convince Dom to stay.”
However, in eScored’s view, it seems improbable that Tottenham’s interest in Toney is genuine. The North London side had the chance to sign him during the summer for wages much lower than his current salary, and with Solanke already fitting a similar profile – who hasn’t underperformed in his time at Spurs – it would be surprising if Toney replaced him in the starting position.
The 28-year-old’s market value is estimated at €50m according to Transfermarkt. Solanke is set to face his former team Bournemouth as Tottenham returns to Premier League action on Thursday.
