Raith Rovers 2, Livingston 1: Full-Time Championship Result

In a compelling display at Stark’s Park, Raith Rovers notched an impressive third consecutive win, while Livingston’s promotion aspirations met a halt, succumbing to their second straight defeat.

Amid managerial turbulence, the hosts capitalized on some less-than-stellar defending, seizing the opportunity to head into half-time with a commanding 2-0 advantage.

Dylan Easton was the architect of the opening goal, expertly latching onto a pass from Liam Dick, deftly rounding goalkeeper Jerome Prior to slot the ball into the unguarded net.

Not to be outdone, Dick then showcased his defensive prowess with a remarkable clearance off his own goal line, thwarting an imminent threat after a dangerous cross.

Rovers extended their lead when Aidan Connolly connected cleanly with a cross from Lewis Jamieson, driving home another goal, while Connolly nearly added to the scoreline with a curling attempt that just drifted wide.

Responding to his side’s struggles, Livingston’s David Martindale made two pivotal changes at the break after losing Tete Yengi to injury within the first 20 minutes. Yet, despite their vigorous pressing, opportunities remained elusive.

A glimmer of hope emerged when Ross Matthews was penalized for a foul on Scott Pittman, allowing Stevie May to convert the resulting penalty in the 65th minute. However, Rovers maintained a resolute defense, ensuring that they held onto their lead with minimal fuss, while Livingston now finds themselves six points adrift of leaders Falkirk, who could only manage a draw against Dunfermline on Friday.
