Sergio Ramos ‘Geared Up for Grand Comeback’ to Real Madrid, Says Report

Sergio Ramos, the iconic Real Madrid figure, is gearing up for an emotional return to the Bernabeu.

He also netted over 100 goals from his defensive position for Los Blancos and made it to FourFourTwo's all-time greatest team—however, after departing for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, his journey at the Bernabeu might not be finished yet.

Now at 39, Ramos is currently showcasing his talents with Monterrey in Mexico.

The center-back participated in the Club World Cup this summer in the United States, having joined the Liga MX team earlier this year. With seven goals in 31 matches already, it’s clear he’s maintained his scoring prowess well into his career.

As per a surprising report from Spanish source Fichajes, the revered player—ranked no.13 in FourFourTwo's all-time greatest Real Madrid players—has extended an offer to his former team, Real, to return amid defensive injuries plaguing the squad.

Sergio will become a free agent in January, and insiders indicate he wishes to don the iconic white jersey once more, having made the offer himself.

Although approaching 40, this potential move could serve as a temporary solution to support Los Blancos during a challenging defensive period, reportedly involving “minimal costs.”

Real Madrid has faced ongoing defensive injury issues for several years, with David Alaba suffering multiple long-term injuries since his arrival on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.

Eder Militao has also encountered serious injuries, with his latest setback occurring last month, while both Antonio Rudiger and Dani Carvajal are currently on the sidelines.

Ramos is familiar with a nostalgic return, having left Paris on a free transfer in 2023 to rejoin Sevilla, where he previously played before his time at Real Madrid, making 28 league appearances before moving to Mexico.

The 39-year-old also concluded his international career in 2021 as Spain’s most-capped player.

As per Transfermarkt, Ramos is valued at €1 million. Real Madrid is set to face Manchester City when Champions League action resumes on December 10.
