Newcastle United Faces New Injury Challenges as Yoane Wissa Sets Return Date
Newcastle seem to have lost a key figure in the dressing room at a vital juncture of the 2025/26 season, as head coach Eddie Howe disclosed that Kieran Trippier will be sidelined for up to four weeks due to a hamstring strain.
The seasoned full-back has stepped in for the injured Tino Livramento during the young England defender's absence but has now faced an injury himself.

It appears that Newcastle will have limited defensive options on the bench during their Merseyside trip, as Swedish full-back Emil Krafth, known to play centrally at times, is also unavailable for the match against the Toffees.
However, Howe confirmed that there is some positive news regarding injuries, as £55 million summer recruit Yoane Wissa has practiced with the squad for the first time, paving the way for a possible debut.
The weekend's matchup against Everton will likely be too early for the DR Congo international, who has recently recovered from a PCL injury sustained during September's international break.
Nevertheless, reports suggest that Wissa may return by mid-December, potentially in time for Newcastle's visit to fierce rivals Sunderland.
Next month's Wear-Tyne derby will mark the first league meeting between the two clubs since 2016. Last season, Newcastle triumphed 3-0 over the Black Cats in the FA Cup.
On the other hand, Everton will be missing the suspended Idrissa Gana Gueye for Newcastle's visit after the midfielder received a straight red card for slapping teammate Michael Keane during the Toffees' 1-0 victory over Manchester United on Monday night.
Newcastle's forthcoming trip to Everton’s new stadium will be their first match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where David Moyes' squad has had a solid start this season, winning three and drawing two of their initial six home games in the Premier League.
