Premier League holders Liverpool are facing new turmoil in their 2025/26 season following shocking comments from star player Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian star found himself on the bench again, as Arne Slot's side let their lead dissipate in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Leeds United.

Salah's frustration has reached a boiling point with his ongoing absence from the starting lineup.

“I can't believe it, I am very disappointed,” expressed the club legend.

“I've done so much for this club, everyone can see that over the years, especially last season. To be on the bench, I don't know why. I feel like the club is throwing me under the bus. That's how I feel.”

“I had a good relationship with the manager,” Salah continued. “All of a sudden, we don't have any relationship. I don't know why. It seems to me that someone doesn't want me in the club.”

With the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold last summer and the arrival of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and Florian Wirtz at Merseyside, the future of Salah at Anfield is once again in question.

“We will see what happens. In my head, I will enjoy the game, even when I don’t play.”

“We will see what will happen. It’s at Anfield, say goodbye to the fans, go to AFCON…because I don’t know what will happen when I’m there anyway.”

Salah will represent Egypt in the World Cup, opening AFCON 2025 group play against Zimbabwe in Agadir on 22 December.
