Crystal Palace Unintentionally Aids Manchester United Fans’ Celebration with Odd Post-Match Decision

Crystal Palace assisted Manchester United fans in celebrating their Premier League victory at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.

However, Ruben Amorim’s side mounted a comeback in the second half, netting two expertly executed set-pieces finished by Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount.

Palace clearly enjoys Selhurst Park’s sound system, as they played Vengaboys’ ‘Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!’ while Mateta converted his penalty, the tune forming the basis of his chant.

Nonetheless, the choice of song at full-time may have puzzled some home supporters.

After their defeat, the Eagles oddly chose to play ‘One More Time’ by Daft Punk as fans exited the stadium.

The famous lyrics state: “One more time, we’re gonna celebrate. Oh yeah, all right, don’t stop the dancing.”

The only group in the stadium with something to celebrate, the United fans in the away section reveled in the song, joyfully dancing to the classic track.

The Red Devils kept singing even after the music stopped, continuing their celebrations behind Mount and Zirkzee while they were interviewed by TNT Sports.

After witnessing their team squander a one-goal lead and suffer their first home defeat in the Premier League this season, this probably wasn't the uplifting sound the Palace fans needed as they left Selhurst.

Goal music and the selections made by those in charge of a stadium are surprisingly hot topics among fans across the country.

According to eScored, when executed well, it can truly enhance the atmosphere at a game.

However, when faced with understandably upset home supporters, it might be wiser to choose something a bit more subdued, rather than throwing a party for the side that just defeated you.

Crystal Palace is set to face Burnley next when Premier League action resumes next week.
