Barcelona’s Double Signing Bid Foiled by Arsenal
La Liga champions Barcelona have been pipped to the post in their pursuit of a pair of South American stars by Premier League front-runners Arsenal.
Confirming the news, the Gunners have bagged a deal to sign brothers Edwin and Holger Quintero.
These 16-year-old twins have been turning heads over the past few years while at Independiente del Valle, showcasing their potential as future superstars.
Despite their youth, both are already making waves as established U20 internationals for Ecuador.
Word about their talents has circulated for ages, with numerous top European clubs keeping a hawk-eyed watch on the siblings.
Among those keenly interested was none other than Barcelona, always on the hunt for emerging talents.
However, it appears the Blaugrana have missed their chance this time around.
According to a report from Diario Sport:
‘From London, it has been indicated that Arsenal have clinched deals for the Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero.’
The pair have already popped over to the capital for medicals and are set to join Arsenal in the summer of 2027.
