Arteta pledges Arsenal will pursue victory against Manchester City on

Mikel Arteta emphasized that Arsenal aims for victory against Manchester City this weekend.

The Gunners are set to face Manchester City, currently positioned second in the league, in a crucial encounter for the title race. With Arsenal holding a six-point lead over City and having played one match more, the stakes are high.

A win would bring Arsenal within reach of their first Premier League title in 22 years, while a draw would still leave them in a commanding position for the final stretch of the season.

Arteta stated that his team will not entertain the idea of playing for a draw, as he views this as a pivotal opportunity at the Etihad.

During his pre-match press conference, Arteta remarked on the significance of this match, saying: “It is certainly the most important one because it is the next one.

“We have earned the right to be in this position and to be challenging and with an opportunity to win against arguably the best team and best manager this league has ever seen, and that is a huge privilege.

“We see this as a big opportunity for us. We are not going to spend one second talking about that (playing for a draw). We prepare every game to win; that is why we are where we are, and we are going to continue to do the same.

“There are six games to go. Obviously, it is a really important one for both teams.

“It will incline the balance a little bit but winning a game in the Premier League is so tough for everybody. After this one, there are some very tough matches for all of us, and we will have to wait and continue whatever happens.”
