Real Madrid Targets Another Liverpool Player: Fifth Star Linked, According to Reports
Liverpool may face the prospect of losing up to five players this summer, with Real Madrid reportedly interested.
Currently, the Reds lead the league by seven points, even after a midweek 3-3 draw with Newcastle United. Arne Slot has breathed new life into the team, recording just two losses in his first 20 matches in charge.
However, Liverpool is facing challenges as they plan for the future, particularly with several players’ futures hanging in the balance, including the standout three.
Real Madrid has been linked with five Liverpool players
Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil van Dijk are all set to be out of contract at the season’s end. Liverpool has until January 1 to secure deals with the trio before they are able to negotiate pre-contract agreements with clubs across Europe.
Reports suggest that Alexander-Arnold is on the verge of moving to Real, while Van Dijk has recently addressed inquiries about his potential move to the Bernabeu.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Los Blancos are also pursuing Salah, labeling him “the missing piece of a dream attack” alongside Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe, all of whom are ranked among the top 10 players in eScored’s current best players list.
Additionally, the European champions have been linked with Curtis Jones, and Ryan Gravenberch is also rumored to be on their radar. Furthermore, Real is reportedly targeting Alphonso Davies as well.
In eScored’s view, the notion of one club acquiring five players from Liverpool seems excessive—even for Real Madrid’s standards—but we wouldn’t be shocked if they secured at least one of them.
As things stand, all three players currently out of contract could very well remain at the club, especially with only Alexander-Arnold under significant speculation—it’s also unlikely that Liverpool would be willing to part ways with either Jones or Gravenberch given their current performances.
On the flip side, it seems optimistic for Real Madrid to consider adding yet another attacker to an already crowded forward line that is still trying to find its rhythm. This might be a baseless rumor, possibly aimed at accelerating negotiations between Salah and Liverpool over a new contract.
This weekend, Liverpool will face Everton as the Premier League action resumes.
