Is Noussair Mazraoui Injured for This Weekend? Premier League Injury Update on Manchester United Defender

This weekend, Manchester United will welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford as they aim to maintain their upward trajectory in the league under Ruben Amorim.

Last weekend, the Red Devils achieved a notable victory against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, with decisive late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad. The Bournemouth match poses a formidable challenge, as they are also enjoying a strong season; attention now turns to the significant match on Sunday.

A pivotal concern is the fitness of defender Noussair Mazraoui. The 27-year-old has undoubtedly been a standout performer for Manchester United this season. However, after exiting the 195th derby with a limp, will he be ready to face the Cherries?

Is Noussair Mazraoui fit for Manchester United this weekend?

Despite featuring prominently before being substituted for Antony, Mazraoui was seen hobbling as Manchester United’s squad left the stadium last weekend.

Amorim addressed the fitness of the former Ajax defender earlier this week, emphasizing that he and the club’s medical team would need to wait for additional assessments before reaching a conclusive verdict.

“Mason Mount is unavailable,” Amorim stated to MUTV after his Wednesday morning press conference. “He has sustained an injury. As for Nous, we will evaluate today.”

“The rest of the squad is prepared for the match. We need to evaluate all players and aim to minimize injuries. If we accomplish this, we’ll be stronger in key moments.”

Nonetheless, Mazraoui played the full 90 minutes against Tottenham on Thursday night, even as Manchester United faced a dramatic exit from the Carabao Cup following a thrilling seven-goal match.

It seems safe to assume that Mazraoui’s injury issue was not serious. At FourFourTwo, we anticipate he will be fit to take on Bournemouth on Sunday in what is shaping up to be a crucial match at Old Trafford.

Whether deployed in a back three or across the central midfield, Mazraoui’s adaptability within Amorim’s new formation has been an impressive aspect of his determined and sturdy performances on the right flank.

Manchester United will return to Premier League action this weekend, facing Bournemouth live on Sky Sports at Old Trafford.
