Liverpool Update: Young Star ‘Prepared’ for ‘Mega Deal’ as Surprising Mohamed Salah Successor

Liverpool are eyeing a sensational young talent as a potential surprise replacement for Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian King, who ranks no.7 on eScored’s best players list, recently stated he feels “more out than in” at Liverpool, amidst a contract impasse with the club. Salah’s current agreement is set to expire next summer, and no progress has been made to extend his stay at Anfield.

In light of this situation, Reds legend Jamie Carragher criticized Salah as “selfish”, with an exit potentially on the horizon for a player who has been in stellar form this season.

At 32 years of age, Salah may not receive a long-term contract extension at Liverpool.

Since his return to the club, sporting director Michael Edwards has focused on a significant rebuild for Liverpool, which could see younger talents coming in to replace established stars.

As per Belgian source Voetbal Nieuws, Liverpool is monitoring Gent young prospect Momodou Sonko closely, with hopes of making a “mega offer” for the 19-year-old.

The Reds have been scouting Sonko since his tenure at BK Hacken in the Allsvenskan. The teenager commented on the transfer speculation by stating that, “If it’s the right offer, the right environment and the right club, I feel ready,” in a conversation with Swedish outlet Sportbladet.

Sonko has been recognized as a wonderkid in EA FC 25 and is often compared to Bukayo Saka due to his agility, dribbling skills, and left foot.

eScored suggests that a move for Sonko would raise eyebrows if he were to take over from Salah, but it would be in line with Liverpool’s recent transfer strategy.

Liverpool has a track record of developing promising talents into superstars instead of solely purchasing elite players, as illustrated by Salah’s journey. Sonko could be given the necessary time to adapt and flourish into a future star if everything aligns positively.

Sonko’s market value stands at €3 million, according to Transfermarkt.
