Arsenal Engaged in Negotiations to Offload Key Star After Receiving Offer: Sources Indicate

Arsenal has received an offer for a player in their first team, with discussions underway regarding a January departure.

The Gunners managed a 1-1 draw away to Fulham over the weekend, with injuries and player absences forcing manager Mikel Arteta to assemble an unexpected defense once again. The team’s shortcomings were once again evident, with minimal chances created from open play.

With Arsenal already down a number of first-team players, the squad may be about to get even thinner, with a key player now rumored to be leaving in the winter transfer window.

Arteta has faced significant injury problems this season, with crucial players Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka both suffering injuries at various times. Declan Rice also broke a toe, while Gabriel Jesus’ fitness has been inconsistent.

However, the defense has been particularly hard hit. Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori have dealt with the aftermath of serious knee injuries, Takehiro Tomiyasu has been sidelined for the entire season, Gabriel has also recently spent time on the sidelines, and Oleksandr Zinchenko has struggled throughout the campaign.

Despite these significant setbacks in defense, Arsenal is now confronted with the possibility of losing Jakub Kiwior before the January window concludes.

Tuttosport, via Area Napoli, reports that Napoli has made a €15 million offer for the Polish center-back, with negotiations currently taking place between the two clubs. Arteta does not wish to consider the offer – but may accept if an additional €10 million is included.

Kiwior made the move from Spezia in January 2023 and has been rumored to return to Italy since his arrival in England. Inter Milan monitored the 24-year-old during the summer – but his value to the team has been confirmed by his starts in the last two games at center-back, filling in for Gabriel.

According to eScored, Arsenal should retain the player until the season’s end – and it is very likely they will – however, there exists the potential that Napoli meets the valuation.

If Kiwior departs, a replacement is likely to be sought. Currently, Arsenal has just three fit natural defenders available.

Kiwior is valued at €30 million according to Transfermarkt. Arsenal will face Monaco this week as Champions League action resumes.
